From Our President
Twenty years ago, our company began supplying Non-Foods to Foodmaster Supermarkets. It was a rocky beginning, to say the least! Each Friday at 4:45PM, I could count on receiving a call from John Andrew raising an issue that needed fixing immediately. Never having a chance to say goodbye, the conversations ended abruptly with John’s admonition, “I expect you to take care of it, now!!!” It took several years for us to understand John’s method of doing business, but once we caught on, we became a better supplier and the phone calls diminished. Although John still knows how to “push my buttons,” our conversations today center around family, friends and what’s new in the trade. John is one of my closest friends in the business, and among our most loyal customers. His dedication and commitment extend to the people who work for him, to his shoppers, his suppliers and to all who play a part in the supermarket industry. He’s a strong leader who not only has built a successful business, but has continuously demonstrated his appreciation by giving generously to both his community and our food association. Thank you, John, for all you do… and congratulations on receiving the well-deserved honor as MFA’s Man of the Year.
